All About Me

I am a busy working mum who loves to design and create new things from both new and vintage materials. This blog is a way for me to organise and record my creations, and develop my skills and style.

As you can probably tell from my header picture  I am from Sheffield, UK, the home of stainless steel cutlery, the world snooker championship and Pulp amongst other things.  It is a very lovely city with lots of trees and hills.  Most of the steel industry has faded away now but both my maternal grandparents worked in this industry.  My Nannan worked Stanley’s Tools ( think yellow and black tape measures, screw drivers etc) and my Grandad at Taylor Eye Witness making scissors and pen knives.  As a result of this I have a large collection of inherited Taylor Eye Witness sewing and tayloring scissors – very useful, and old tools – not quite so useful.

I hope you enjoy looking at my creations, thanks for taking the time to do so.  You can keep up-to-date with my new posts by following the blog either via wordpress if you have an account, email, twitter or facebook.  Just click on the appropriate button on the homepage.

  1. Hi, just letting you know I’ve nominated you for a Wonderful Team Member Readership Award (great name hey!) I’ve put a link to your blog on my post, don’t feel obliged to accept! Amy

  2. I am so glad to get to know about your blog! Thanks so much for coming round to Very Berry and saying hello. And I am so excited to know that you live in Sheffield – I had three very lovely years living in Sharrow then Broomhill/Crookes in the early 90s. They were very happy times, and I have to say it would be my ideal place to live…

I would love to know what you think!
