“Project Allotment” Begins

We have just been lucky enough to acquire a huge allotment from our local council. Unfortunately the plot has been unloved for a very long time, and it is going to take a lot of hard work to get it in order.

We have been there all weekend and done a lot of digging and even more rubbish collecting, and finally we planted something! Two strawberry plants, a rhubarb plant and some wild garlic to be precise. It’s all very exciting!

Compared to the size of the plot our veggie beds look tiny, but it’s a start right? I have zoomed in to show you our handywork…..

Just need to keep my fingers crossed that the local idiots don’t go and trash it all.

Any tips or advice would be warmly received as we are complete beginners at allotment keeping. I bought a wild garlic plant because it looked pretty and we like garlic, it’s planted but when do I get to eat it?
